Our new rubber-coated suspension springs bring a significant upgrade to all pre-2021 GyroDec / Gyro SE / Orbe / Orbe SE Turntables. By damping the spring’s natural ability to resonate when exposed to airborne vibrations, the rubber coating prevents the music playing in the room from feeding vibrations back into the turntable.

 

This small innovation gives a significant increase in performance. Bass response is tightened, and instruments and vocals are more defined within the sound stage.

Please Note:  Coated suspension springs come as standard on all turntables sold after May 2021. Not compatible with original spec Gyrodec with single piece steel suspension pillars.

GyroDec Suspension Kit

Upgrade kit for original specification GyroDecs with single-piece steel suspension pillars.

This upgrade makes it easy to adjust the chassis height and spring position, allowing you to set up your turntable perfectly. With the turntable now effectively sitting on three pin points, you also get a lift in performance.


Contrary to the original design, the suspension pillar is made up of three parts: a suspension spindle, thrust ball and hollow pillar. The spindle is fixed to the base of the turntable, at the top of which sits the thrust ball, and the hollow pillar sits over the assembly and supports the spring, which in turn holds the chassis.


This arrangement gives the turntable a three-position, high-pressure, point contact suspension system, which helps minimize structural vibrations making their way into the sensitive parts of the turntable.

Michell HR Power Supply

HR Power Supply

The HR Power Supply is a low-noise electronic power source for the DC motors as found on the TecnoDec, GyroDec and Gyro SE turntables.

 

Adding extra stability to the power supply for the motor, the HR features the novel Never-Connected circuit, and has a user-adjustable speed control on its back plate.

 

Fitting is simple – just unplug the motor lead from the existing supply and connect it to the HR. An IEC mains lead comes supplied.

 

Please Note: that the HR Power Supply is now only available in a black acrylic case.

The Orbe Platter Kit offers owners of GyroDecs and Gyro SE’s the opportunity to take their turntables to the next performance level. Taking many of the Orbe’s unique qualities, the Orbe Platter Kit contains the following items:

  • Screw-Down Record Clamp, Compatible With Standard And 180g Audiophile Pressings

To bring all of the added benefit of the Orbe screw-down record clamp to GyroDec and Gyro SE owners, the Orbe Clamp Kit contains a new, threaded record spindle that can be easily retro-fitted to the main bearing body.

 

Once fitted, the record clamp screws down giving a much firmer coupling to the platter as well as flattening out any warps in your precious vinyl.

Michell LEVIS Magnetic Levitation Feet

LEVIS Magnetic Levitation Feet

LEVIS feet use opposing magnets to support the weight of your turntable, floating it on a cushion of air. LEVIS adds an additional level of structural isolation between the sensitive parts of your turntable and the supporting surface.

 

Structural vibrations occur when dynamic forces generated by things such as loudspeakers, footfall, outside traffic, electrical transformers, and even turntable motors, make the supporting surface of your turntable vibrate. These vibrations no matter how small can then travel into your turntable and affect its performance. LEVIS feet effectively eliminate these vibrations before they can become a problem.

 

When designing a magnetic levitation device, some consideration must be given to how you will control the action of the levitation and how you will contain the assembly and stop it flying apart. Some parts must touch somewhere! We looked how similar devices had dealt with these issues; however, we didn’t feel they were right for the product we were trying to create. So, opted for a fully enclosed design with minimal contact.

 

When in operation, the only physical contact between the lower part of each foot and the upper part is 3 unloaded tiny radius points, almost pinpoints. Made of high rigidity low mass polymer, these points of contact are not load bearing, and isolated from the metal parts by a polymer housing and spring. The points of contact are only present to ensure the metal parts of the feet do not touch. This design gives an extremely low level of contact, getting as close as possible to contact free support.
